Monique Hassell

Practice Lead, Human Capital Management & Client Services

Ms. Hassell is an accomplished Organizational Development Specialist with more than 25 years’ experience developing tools and implementing solutions to drive performance, develop leaders and engender change in organizations across the globe.  Her experience includes working in Barbados, the U.K., Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Bahamas, Japan, Singapore, Dubai, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Norway, France, Czech Republic, U.S.A., Germany, Austria, Trinidad and Guyana.  Ms. Hassell is resolute in her belief that the critical factor in building high performing teams lies in the engagement of employees through effective Leadership.  Throughout her career the afore-mentioned has influenced Ms. Hassell to take on positions that provide the opportunity to grow and strengthen leadership capability, whilst creating an enabling culture that empowers emerging talent to tap into their true potential.

Ms. Hassell has provided the strategic direction for capability building in a number of diverse environments both public and private.  She spent 15 years in the UK developing her expertise in multi-national companies such as the Walt Disney Company where she designed and implemented a comprehensive competency framework for leaders that was subsequently integrated into standard recruitment, training and succession planning policy.  In her capacity as Global Training and Development Manager at SITA, the world’s leading specialist in air transport communications and IT solutions, Ms. Hassell led a team responsible for identifying and meeting the needs of circa 5000 employees across 200+ countries and territories.

Ms. Hassell returned to the Caribbean in 2005, determined to customize and apply her  best practice learnings in her home region so as to ensure local organizations could  also benefit from her international exposure.  In 2008 whilst holding the position of Director Leadership Development at First Caribbean International Bank, she spearheaded a partnership with the internationally renowned Wharton School of Business to develop an Executive Education program that provided the executive management team with exposure to leading edge tools and thinking, resulting in increased capability and cross functional productivity.  She then went on to develop organizational competency frameworks for the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) and Bahamas’ Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA).

Ms. Hassell is currently resident in Barbados and has continued to broaden her exposure to the region whilst deepening her expertise in developing organizational capability to drive significant change through people.

Ms. Hassell holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Business from Sussex University in addition to an MSc in Training and Human Resource Management from the University of Leicester.  Ms. Hassell is also accredited in the use of the Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI), Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Wave psychometric.
