Title: Manager, Operational Risk

Role Overview: The Manager, Operational Risk is responsible for the implementation, oversight, and continuous enhancement of an operational risk management framework and supporting processes across a Group of Companies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support senior leadership in the development and execution of the Risk Management Framework, with a focus on Operational Risk.
- Develop and implement mechanisms for the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of operational risk, including KRI and KPI reporting.
- Act as subject matter expert in Operational Risk, leading a team in risk analysis and resolution while serving as the second line of defence.
- Oversee the design and execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and maintain the operational risk register across all business units.
- Oversee the identification, recording, and reporting of operational risk incidents and loss events, ensuring appropriate escalation and remediation.
- Lead operational risk stress testing activities and assess the reasonableness of scenarios and assumptions used.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery framework.
- Collaborate with business lines and senior management to promote a strong risk culture and ensure compliance with risk management requirements.
- Prepare and present operational risk reports to senior management and relevant committees.
- Manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management or a related field; MBA would be an asset.
- Professional Certification in Risk Management (RIMS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing operational risk within a financial environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the banking industry and regulatory guidelines.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment; extended hours and some travel may be required.
