FINANCE MANAGER

The Role:
Our client, Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited, is seeking to appoint an experienced and results-oriented Finance Manager. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective financial management, accurate financial reporting, sound financial governance, regulatory compliance, budgeting and financial planning, while leading a high-performing finance team and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), regulatory requirements, taxation legislation and internal control frameworks.
  • Coordinate year-end financial reporting, external audits, statutory reporting and regulatory returns.
  • Strengthen financial systems, processes and controls while developing and leading a high-performing finance team.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, together with a recognised professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualification experience, including at least three (3) years in a finance leadership role within a financial services institution or similarly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, IFRS, budgeting, taxation, regulatory reporting, internal controls and financial governance.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
