Title: Manager, Credit Risk

Role Overview: The Manager, Credit Risk is responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of the credit risk management framework and supporting processes across a Group of Companies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support senior leadership in developing and executing an effective communication strategy to promote a culture of risk management across the Group.
- Lead a team in the analysis of credit oversight strategies, loan portfolios, and individual credits to evaluate credit quality, adherence to lending standards, and alignment with approved policies and risk appetite.
- Develop and implement mechanisms for the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of credit risks, including KPI reporting and analyses.
- Assess the overall credit risk profile and ensure consistent application of the credit risk framework, policies, and practices across all entities within the Group.
- Lead independent reviews, challenge and risk assessments of credit proposals, exercising judgement and making recommendations.
- Monitor and report on Credit Risk Appetite metrics, including escalation of breaches and emerging risks to senior management and relevant committees.
- Oversee forward-looking portfolio analysis, including trend analysis, concentration risk, and early warning indicators.
- Lead the design, execution, and reporting of credit risk stress testing scenarios to inform risk mitigation and strategic decision-making.
- Oversee independent credit file reviews and sampling exercises to assess adherence to lending standards and documentation quality.
- Support the development of credit risk systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with business lines and senior management to ensure compliance with credit risk management requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management or a related field; MBA would be an asset.
- Professional Certification in Risk Management (RIMS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing credit risk within a financial environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment; extended hours and some travel may be required.
